Description: The Colorado River Basin Endangered Species and Conservation programs support the Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish and San Juan River Basin Recovery Implementation Programs and the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program in the Upper Colorado Basin.

Description: To conserve the sagebrush ecosystem of the American West and the nationally-significant biological, cultural and economic resources it supports.

USDA Resilience Ecological Health Restoration Contracts No Direct Federal Spending Report to Congress in June 2022

Description: This program is responsible for issuing contracts for management of programs with authority to dispose of National Forest System timber and non-timber forest products harvested for commercial, personal, and Tribal uses.

DOI Resilience Ecosystem - Delaware River Basin Conservation Act No Grant First Round of Funding Allocated / Selections Announced in September 2022

Description: The Delaware River Basin program provides competitive matching grants for habitat conservation to State and local governments, nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher education, and other eligible entities in the Delaware River Basin.

Description: The Volunteer Fire Assistance program focuses on increasing the capacity of local fire departments to provide initial attack on wildfires by providing additional firefighter training and assistance to departments with purchasing equipment.

USDA Resilience Research And Development Via Joint Fire Science Program Partnership With Department Of Interior No Grant, facilitated through interagency agreement with the Department of Interior (Bureau of Land Management).

Description: The Joint Fire Science Program funds scientific research on wildland fires and distributes results to help policymakers, fire managers and practitioners make decisions.

Department of Agriculture Resilience Wildfire Detection And Monitoring Equipment Yes Direct Federal Spending

Description: The agency will procure and place wildfire detection and real-time monitoring equipment, such as sensors, cameras, and other relevant equipment in wildfire prone areas to enhance safety and awareness of wildfire risk for the public and first responders.

USDA Resilience Removal Of Vegetation For Biochar And Innovative Wood Products No Direct Federal Spending

Description: This program, through contracting or employing crews of laborers, supports the modification and removal of flammable vegetation on Federal land and for using materials from treatments.

Federal Cost Share: No non-Federal cost share required

USACE Resilience Regulatory Program No Direct Federal

Description: Provides funds to administer the laws and regulations pertaining to activities affecting U.S. waters.

Eligible Recipients: Army Corps permitting activities.

Federal Cost Share: No cost share requirement. Applicants can elect to pay a fee for permitting.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Long Island Sound No Cooperative Agreement (Discretionary Grants)

Description: Supports the implementation of a comprehensive plan to protect and restore water quality, habitat, and living resources in Long Island Sound, working with State and local governments, the private sector, user groups, and the general public.

USACE Resilience Inland Flood Risk Management Projects No Direct Federal

Description: Funds the construction of projects that help to reduce the risk of damage in a flood, including $750 million for multi-purpose projects or programs that include flood risk management benefits as a purpose.

Eligible Recipients: The Army Corps will use this funding to construct authorized Federal flood damage reduction projects.

Federal Cost Share: In general, unless otherwise specified in law, projects are cost shared 65 percent Federal, 35 percent non-Federal.

DOE Clean Energy and Power Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program Existing Competitive Agreements went into effect on 2/21 and 5/21; NRC licensing of reactors TBD

Description: To fund two large demonstrations of advanced nuclear reactors for electricity generation

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Columbia River Basin Restoration Program No Grant August 10, 2022 - EPA announced initial awards for FY2022

Description: This program is intended to improve water quality in the Lower Columbia River Basin through specific actions to reduce toxics, increase monitoring, and/or increase public education and outreach.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Puget Sound No Grant

Description: Goal to restore and maintain the Puget Sound Estuary's environment.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Lake Pontchartrain Restoration Program No Cooperative Agreement (Discretionary Grants)

Description: This program carries out the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Comprehensive Management Plan.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Gulf of Mexico No Grant

Description: Founded to facilitate collaborative actions to protect, maintain, and restore the health and productivity of the Gulf of Mexico in ways consistent with the economic well-being of the Region.

DOI Water Central Utah Project No Direct Federal Spending January 2022, Initial Spend Plan released

Description: Funding will be used to continue construction of the Utah Lake System Pipeline.

Description: Coordinates and funds efforts that benefit the Lake Champlain Basin’s water quality, fisheries, wetlands, wildlife, recreation, and cultural resources, in partnership with government agencies. private organizations, local communities, and individuals.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - San Francisco Bay Water Quality Improvement Fund No Grant September 20, 2022 - Request for Applications closes

Description: To improve water quality and restore aquatic habitat (i.e. wetlands) in the San Francisco Bay and its watersheds.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - South Florida Geographic Initiatives Program No Grant

Description: Provides competitive grants to address the immediate and emerging ecological pressures and threats to nearshore waters, bays, estuaries, beaches, and coral reefs central to South Florida’s economic well-being.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Southeast New England Coastal Watershed Restoration Program No Grant

Description: To protect and restore water quality, ecological health, and diverse habitats by sharing knowledge and resources, promoting innovative approaches, and leveraging economic and environmental investments to meet the needs of current and future generations.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Northwest Forest No Grants and Interagency Agreements

Description: Addresses water quality impairments from non-point sources related to pacific northwest forest practices and works to improve the quality and quantity of surface water so that beneficial uses and drinking water/source water protection goals are met.

DOI Water Dam Safety Program Existing Direct Federal Funding

Description: Reclamation's Dam Safety Program is in place to ensure reclamation dams do not present unreasonable risk to people, property, and the environment.

Eligible Recipients: State and local

Federal Cost Share: 85% Federal, 15% non-Federal, in lieu of project specific statute. Waivers are not available.

DOI Resilience Ecosystem - Klamath Basin No Cooperative Agreement, Direct Federal Spending May 8, 2022 - Applications closed for year 1 funding

Description: Funding provided will be allocated for habitat restoration and water right acquisition to help restore the Klamath ecosystem, as well as for enhanced hatchery production of listed Klamath species (Lost River and shortnose suckers).

USDA Resilience Federal Wildland Firefighter Salaries And Expenses No Direct Federal Spending

Description: To address the increasing complexity and severity of fire years the Forest Service will create a more permanent workforce by converting no fewer than 1,000 seasonal wildland firefighters to wildland fire managers that are full-time, permanent and year-round while also holding responsibilities for reducing hazardous fuels on Federal land.
