Description: The Hazardous Fuels program prioritizes treating areas with high potential for damaging wildfires within the wildland-urban interface using a scenario planning tool to identify areas where there is high and very high wildfire hazard potential adjacent to communities.

DOI Resilience Wildfire Management - Fuels Management No Direct Federal spending, possibly Interagency Agreement(s), Cooperative Agreement(s), and Contract(s) Yes

Description: To protect vulnerable communities from wildfire while preparing our communities and natural landscapes for a changing climate, through hazardous fuels management strategies.

USACE Resilience Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Projects No Direct Federal Yes

Description: Funds the construction of authorized water resources projects to increase aquatic ecosystem restoration, including $1 billion for multi-purpose projects or programs that include aquatic ecosystem restoration as a purpose.

Eligible Recipients: In partnership with State, local, and Tribal governments the Army Corps would use funding to construct Federally authorized aquatic ecosystem restoration projects.

Federal Cost Share: In general, unless otherwise specified in law, projects are cost shared 65 percent Federal, 35 percent non-Federal.

USACE Resilience Inland Flood Risk Management Projects No Direct Federal

Description: Funds the construction of projects that help to reduce the risk of damage in a flood, including $750 million for multi-purpose projects or programs that include flood risk management benefits as a purpose.

Eligible Recipients: The Army Corps will use this funding to construct authorized Federal flood damage reduction projects.

Federal Cost Share: In general, unless otherwise specified in law, projects are cost shared 65 percent Federal, 35 percent non-Federal.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Northwest Forest No Grants and Interagency Agreements

Description: Addresses water quality impairments from non-point sources related to pacific northwest forest practices and works to improve the quality and quantity of surface water so that beneficial uses and drinking water/source water protection goals are met.

Eligible Recipients: Limited Eligibilities – Federal

EPA Water Geographic Programs - Southeast New England Coastal Watershed Restoration Program No Grant

Description: To protect and restore water quality, ecological health, and diverse habitats by sharing knowledge and resources, promoting innovative approaches, and leveraging economic and environmental investments to meet the needs of current and future generations.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - South Florida Geographic Initiatives Program No Grant

Description: Provides competitive grants to address the immediate and emerging ecological pressures and threats to nearshore waters, bays, estuaries, beaches, and coral reefs central to South Florida’s economic well-being.

EPA Water Geographic Programs - San Francisco Bay Water Quality Improvement Fund No Grant September 20, 2022 - Request for Applications closes

Description: To improve water quality and restore aquatic habitat (i.e. wetlands) in the San Francisco Bay and its watersheds.

USDA Resilience Removal Of Vegetation For Biochar And Innovative Wood Products No Direct Federal Spending

Description: This program, through contracting or employing crews of laborers, supports the modification and removal of flammable vegetation on Federal land and for using materials from treatments.

USDA Resilience Post-Fire Restoration No Direct Federal Spending

Description: The Burned Area Recovery program will provide restoration activities on wildfire affected areas within three years after the date that a wildland fire is contained.

DOI Water Central Utah Project No Direct Federal Spending January 2022, Initial Spend Plan released

Description: Funding will be used to continue construction of the Utah Lake System Pipeline.

USDA Resilience Southwest Ecological Restoration Institute No Direct Federal Spending

Description: Southwest Ecological Restoration Institute will compile and display data for fuels treatments and wildfire, to facilitate coordination and use of existing and future interagency fuel treatment data, and to carry out other related activities of a Southwest Ecological Restoration Institute.

Department of Agriculture Resilience Wildfire Detection And Monitoring Equipment Yes Direct Federal Spending

Description: The agency will procure and place wildfire detection and real-time monitoring equipment, such as sensors, cameras, and other relevant equipment in wildfire prone areas to enhance safety and awareness of wildfire risk for the public and first responders.

Description: To deploy strategies consistent with the Lake Tahoe Aquatic Invasive Species Management Plan to prevent the introduction or spread of aquatic invasive species in the Lake Tahoe region.

Description: Provides competitive grants to State Geological Surveys and funds projects executed by U.S. Geological Survey and other Department of the Interior bureaus to preserve, modernize, and make publicly available geological and geophysical data and assets.

Description: This program ensures the productive and sustainable use of National Forest System lands by improving the condition and health of forest and rangeland vegetation, controlling the spread of invasive species, sustaining soil productivity, reducing the risk of severe flooding and erosion in areas affected by severe fire, and maintaining water quality.
