USDA Resilience Volunteer Fire Assistance No Grant, Financial Assistance, Technical Assistance Only Round of Funding Allocated / Selections Announced in Q3 2022

Description: The Volunteer Fire Assistance program focuses on increasing the capacity of local fire departments to provide initial attack on wildfires by providing additional firefighter training and assistance to departments with purchasing equipment.

DOI Water Water & Groundwater Storage, And Conveyance (including Small Water Storage Program) Existing Competitive and formula August 2022, Small Storage program expected to open

Description: Funds water storage, groundwater storage, and conveyance projects with existing feasibility study or construction authorization. Funding will be provided through a combination of internal formulation and competitive grant processes, and non-Federal project sponsors in Reclamation States, including Alaska and Hawaii are eligible.

USACE Resilience Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Program Account New Loans

Description: Federal credit program to provide credit assistance to creditworthy borrowers for projects to maintain, upgrade, and repair dams identified in the National Inventory of Dams owned by non-Federal entities.

Eligible Recipients: State, local government, public utility, or private primary owners of dams identified in the National Inventory of Dams

EPA Water Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Small and Underserved Communities Emerging Contaminants Grant Program Existing Competitive August 15, 2022  – Letter of Intent closed for FY2022 Yes

Description: Provides grants to public water systems in small and underserved/disadvantaged communities that are unable to finance activities needed to comply with drinking water regulations. Bipartisan Infrastructure Law prioritizes the funding to focus on small and disadvantaged communities in addressing emerging contaminants, including PFAS.

Eligible Recipients: States initially receive funding, then provide funds through grants to water utilities and other eligible entities in small and/or underserved/disadvantaged communities. Tribes and territories are also eligible to receive funds under this program.

Federal Cost Share: No non-federal cost share required

DOI Water Water Recycling (Large scale water recycling) Existing Competitive 03/15/22 funding closed March 15, 2022. Additional program criteria for large projects to follow during 2022.

Description: Projects that reclaim and/or reuse municipal, industrial, and agricultural wastewater; or impaired ground and surface waters. Large Scale Water Recycling Program is defined in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law as projects that reclaim and reuse municipal, industrial, domestic, or agricultural wastewater; or impaired groundwater or surface water with a total project cost of $500 million or more and located in a Reclamation State.

Eligible Recipients: Open

Federal Cost Share: 75% non-Federal, up to 25 %from Federal. Waivers are not available.

DOC-NOAA Water Water Resources Development Act Data Acquisition Existing Various Yes

Description: Pilot program within the National Mesonet Program for the acquisition and use of data generated by a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers -led initiative.

Eligible Recipients: States, Counties, Cities / Townships, Special Districts, Tribal Governments (Federally Recognized and non-Federally Recognized), Higher edu., nonprofits etc.

Federal Cost Share: No non-federal cost share required

USACE Resilience Water-Related Environmental Infrastructure Assistance Existing Direct Federal Yes

Description: The program funds engineering and construction of authorized environmental infrastructure projects which provides safe water supply, waste disposal, and pollution control to cities and towns to protect human health and safeguard the environment.

Eligible Recipients: In partnership with State, local, and Tribal governments, the Army Corps would use funding to construct Federally authorized environmental infrastructure projects.

Federal Cost Share: In general, projects are cost shared 50% Federal, 50% non-Federal.

USDA Resilience Watershed And Flood Prevention Operations Existing Yes

Description: Provides planning, design and construction of measures that address resource concerns in a watershed.

Eligible Recipients: Cities, Counties, Towns, Conservation Districts, Or Any Federally-Recognized Tribe Or Tribal Organization.

Federal Cost Share: Varies. Waivers are available in some circumstances.

DOI Water Watershed Management Projects New Competitive Yes

Description: Watershed management includes water conservation and efficiency projects that increase reliability for ecological value, improvements to mitigate drought-related impacts to ecological values, and projects that improve the condition of a natural feature or nature-based feature.

USDA Clean Energy and Power Watershed Rehabilitation Program Existing Technical and Financial Assistance Yes

Description: Provides planning, design and construction for Department of Agriculture assisted dams to extend their service life and meet current safety requirements

DOI Water WaterSMART Grants Existing Competitive July 28, 2022 – Applications closed for WaterSmart Water and Energy Efficiency Grants for FY23 Yes

Description: This funding will be used for competitive grants through WaterSMART for water management improvements that contribute to water supply sustainability, increase drought resilience, and that have environmental benefits.

DOE Clean Energy and Power Weatherization Assistance Program Existing Formula July 1, 2022 - Applications for FY22 closed Yes

Description: To increase the energy efficiency of dwellings owned or occupied by low income persons, reduce their total residential energy expenditures, and improve health and safety.

Department of Agriculture Resilience Wildfire Detection And Monitoring Equipment Yes Direct Federal Spending

Description: The agency will procure and place wildfire detection and real-time monitoring equipment, such as sensors, cameras, and other relevant equipment in wildfire prone areas to enhance safety and awareness of wildfire risk for the public and first responders.

Description: To award financial assistance to eligible entities for research, development, demonstration and commercialization projects to create innovative and practical approaches to increase the reuse and recycling of wind technologies
